“Let medicine by thy food and food be thy medicine” - Hippocrates

What is natural medicine/nutritional medicine?

A nutritionist is a person who advises on matters of food and nutrition impacts on health. Nutritional medicine is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to health maintenance, growth, reproduction and disease.

The vitamins, minerals and proteins required to maintain the human body in good health can be met only through the intake of a well-balanced, wide variety of food. The major causes of death, illness and disability in which diet and nutrition play an important role include coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, atherosclerosis, some forms of cancer, Type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, dental caries, gall bladder disease and nutritional anaemias.

Ill health generally cannot be attributed to any one dietary component alone. This is where the nutritionist at Infinitive Health Wellness Centre plays an integral role in helping you regain and maintain your optimal health. The number of sessions required depends on the individual needs of the client, their condition, the treatment goals and the level of commitment from the client. The desired outcome can only be achieved if the client is committed to making changes to their lifestyle.
